We maintain the highest standards of safer recruitment:

• Enhanced DBS checks for all staff and tutors  
• Identity, qualification, and reference checks  
• Ongoing suitability monitoring  

All staff receive:

• Safeguarding training at induction  
• Regular updates and refreshers  
• Training in trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming practice  
• Clear guidance on whistleblowing and professional conduct  

 We ensure:

• Safe use of digital platforms  
• Clear boundaries for online learning  
• Monitoring and reporting of online concerns  
• Education around online risks appropriate to age and need  

We recognise that many of our learners:

• Are neurodivergent  
• Have SEND, SEMH needs, or complex trauma histories  
• May struggle to communicate concerns in traditional ways  

We therefore:

• Use individualised safeguarding approaches 
• Adapt communication methods  
• Build trusted relationships over time  
• Work proactively to reduce risk, not just react to incidents

 Any safeguarding concern is:

1. Taken seriously 
2. Recorded accurately 
3. Passed immediately to the DSL 
4. Acted upon in line with statutory guidance

• Health and mental health services  
• Schools and commissioning teams
